LOS CREMATORS
Queen′s Nails Annex is pleased to present an audio-based installation by Los Angeles artist Eamon Ore-Giron, entitled Los Cremators. Featuring video, audio and sculpture, the exhibition also marks the debut of Queen′s Nails Annex audio label, QNA RECORDS with Ore-Giron′s limited edition compact discs ′Los Cremators′ and ′Dancefloor Killers′.
This exhibition engages audio installation, sculpture and video and thus marks Ore-Giron′s departure from traditional painting. As its first gallery manifestation, Los Cremators brings to the audience a reinterpretation of the classic vinyl album - as an object whose sonic qualities take on a new life through ′hands on′ or rudimentary manipulation as well as that of a visual work of art. Playing off simple aural forms inherent in music, the exhibition focuses on a purified world in which sounds and visuals are unadulterated and our cluttered palettes are cleared. Los Cremators will feature graphic elements influenced by artwork from album covers and utilizes 400 vinyl records as part of the sculptural objects within the installation. Eamon Ore-Giron will perform live as part of the opening reception.
